Academic
Archbishop Spalding High School awards Presidential and Fr. Manuel Roman scholarships to students entering grade nine. Qualification for these scholarships is based on performance on the admissions/placement test. Students who qualify will then submit an essay and have a personal interview. Criteria for final selection will include performance in the interview, grades, letters of recommendation and involvement in extra-curricular activities. These scholarships are renewed annually provided the recipient maintains a B average and remains a student in good standing supporting the activities and mission of the school.
Leadership
The Barbara Schwitzer Leadership Scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming 9th grade student who exemplifies leadership qualities in academics, extra-curricular activities and service.
Music
Instrumental music students may apply and audition for several instrumental music scholarships. They are selected by the Band Director and may be renewed annually upon evaluation of the Band Director. Applications information is available in the Admissions Office.
The Vocal Director, following an audition, selects scholarships awarded to vocal students and/or piano accompanists. These may be renewed annually upon the evaluation of the Vocal Director. Applications information is available in the Admissions Office.
The Knott Scholarship Funds
The Knott Scholarship Funds award four-year, full-tuition scholarships to attend a Catholic parish elementary school or a Catholic high school in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, or Howard counties. These scholarships look to honor Catholic students who excel in academics. To apply for these scholarships the student MUST meet ALL of the criteria indicated on the Information Flyer/Application Request Form. To obtain this form contact the Admissions Office or:

Colleen & Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is intended to recognize the significant sacrifices made by teachers and administrators who have accepted God's call to the ministry of Catholic education. To be eligible to apply, a student must be a dependent of a full-time teacher or administrator with 3 or more years in a Catholic elementary or high school within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Alumni Association Scholarship
An award is given to a student who is a family member (child, niece/nephew, or sibling) of an alumnus who has a minimum GPA of 2.5, is in good academic and disciplinary standing and excels in service to the school. Nomination forms are available through the Alumni Office.
Denise Alvarez Scholarship
Two scholarships are awarded each year to students based on school spirit, concern for others, involvement in the school community, their love for the school, and who are examples of the spirit of the school.
Lt. James H. Love Memorial Scholarship
The Love family established this scholarship to propagate the high standards of achievement set by Jamie in athletics, academic performance and unselfish service to his community and country. Jamie, a United States naval officer, was killed during the Gulf War. This scholarship is awarded to a junior student athlete who participates in at least two sports and has a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications are available in the President’s Office.
Employee Scholarship
Awarded to a third year Spalding student who possesses a grade point average of 3.75 or above, displays exemplary behavior, and has contributed to the school community.
Karl F. Biener Scholarship
Awarded every other year to a current 9th - 11th grade student who possesses average grades, studiousness, and a sincere desire to continue their education to benefit others.
Andrew Eser Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a 12th grade student who exhibits outstanding character. This scholarship was established by the Eser family in honor of Andy, a member of the class of 2001.
