Why do freshmen see their counselor?

When they want to learn how to manage their time more efficiently.
When they want to manage stress.
When they need to improve their study skills.
When they want to find out which clubs and organizations are right for them.
When they need to talk to someone confidentially.
When they want to help a friend who may be in trouble.
When they want to learn how to get involved socially, academically or even consider a part time job.
When they want to discuss issues with growing up.
When they want to obtain help and support through potentially stressful situations, i.e loss of a friend or relative.

How do I make a guidance appointment?
During the first month of school each counselor will be meeting with their freshman in small groups. The purpose of this meeting is for introductions and explanation of how the Guidance Department works and what resources are available. Students are also invited to meet with their counselor individually. The following is a list of ways make a guidance appointment:
- Leave a note in the box attached to your counselor's door.
- See Mrs. Bach, the guidance secretary, and tell her you would like to make an appointment.
- Before school, after school or on the way to lunch come down to the guidance wing and if we are busy make an appointment with Mrs. Bach
- In the case of an emergency there is no need to make an appointment
