About Spalding Boys Basketball Camp
The Cavalier Youth Basketball Camp provides instruction in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Our goal is to teach boys ages 7 to 14 the fundamental building blocks that make up a great player while creating a fun environment. We offer a low camper-to-coach ratio, allowing campers to learn more effectively while enjoying their experience. Each camper will receive a camp evaluation at the end of the week, along with a camp shirt. There will also be an award ceremony to conclude camp.
Camp Director
Coach Pratt will serve as Camp Director. Coach Pratt played collegiately at Montgomery College and Newberry College. Coach Pratt has over 30 years of experience in coaching three nationally-ranked high school programs. Along the way, Coach Pratt has captured two MIAA ‘A’ conference championships, a Baltimore Catholic League title, a Maryland 3A region state title, Southern Maryland Athletic Conference title and two Chesapeake Division Titles. Coach Pratt was named coach of the year in the MIAA A conference (2024), Capital Gazette (2020), Baltimore Examiner (2007), Towson Times (2007), Baltimore Catholic League (2008 and 2019), and the Southern Maryland Gazette (2017). Coach Pratt has served at many different basketball camps over the years as camp director and camp counselor. Coach Pratt is married to Jeannie Pratt and has two boys, Joey (14) and Jameson (12).
Coach Pratt’s highly qualified staff will instruct and help develop all aspects of basketball to help the campers improve their skills.
Most Notable players Coach Pratt has coached: Rudy Gay (San Antonio Spurs), Jarrett Jack (New York Knicks), Donte Greene (Sacramento Kings), Cam Whitmore (Houston Rockets), and Malcolm Delaney (Atlanta Hawks).
